Frequently asked questions

What should I charge for a mixed bouquet at the farmers market?

Most small farms sell a standard mixed market bouquet for $20 to $35, with premium bouquets above that. The right price for you depends on your cost per stem, your stem count, supplies, and your time. The calculator does that math for each bouquet size.

How do I calculate my cost per stem?

Add up everything it costs to grow a crop (seed or plugs, soil amendments, irrigation, a share of supplies) and divide by the number of stems you actually harvest and sell. Cost per stem is your floor, not your price.

Is this a download or a spreadsheet?

It runs in your browser. After checkout you get a link in your order receipt that works on your phone or computer, so you can price a bouquet at the market table.

What is the difference between the calculator and the full toolkit?

The calculator prices bouquets and market bunches. The $27 Flower Farm Pricing Toolkit includes the calculator plus a 35-variety cost and yield reference, CSA and subscription pricing, Bloom Bar packages, wedding quotes, and a season sales forecast.

What if it is not for me?

Who is this for?

Small and first-year cut flower growers who sell at markets, farm stands, or through bouquet subscriptions and want a price they can say out loud without second-guessing it.
