My First Item Consigned/Resold With TheRealReal: Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo Leather Bow Accents Slingback Sandals
This absolutely spectacular pair of kitten heels were for sale at a local Salvation Army thrift store and I was sure to snag them as immediately as the pink leather insole sparkled across the room and quickly caught my attention. Like new, looking as if they’ve never been worn, I have never put something in my shopping cart so quickly as I did these. Running a US size 6, this pair was 2 sizes too small for myself to enjoy but I know they are going to make one lucky lady jump for joy when she slides these vintage Italian leather shoes onto her feet. My initial thoughts were that this would be a fabulous shoe fit for a classy bride going for a timeless and almost ballerina like look.
The pair was in an overall great condition & the only “cleaning” they required was a bit of leather cleaner solution & moisturizer from The Chemical Guys (this is a MUST HAVE product for anyone that owns any leather goods). This step was not required but in order to get the most money for my items to look their absolute best, I wanted to do so.

Real Example of My First Experience Consigning With TheRealReal From Start To Finish: Salvatore Ferragamo Shoes
I purchased the pair of shoes at a local Salvation Army thrift store.
I cleaned & conditioned the shoes with a couple of The Chemical Guys leather care products.
I logged into my TheRealReal account & entered the item details (item type, brand, & size).
TheRealReal then created a shipping label (100% FREE SHIPPING) that I then printed & would eventually tape on to the box.
I wrapped the shoes in brown paper & repurposed an old Amazon box to put them inside.
I took the package to the post office to ship to TheRealReal.
Within 2 weeks or so, TheRealReal created a listing for the item.
You can view the status of your consigned items on your TheRealReal account - I would periodically check to see if they had sold.
The shoes sold for $40 at a discounted rate of 20%. My final commission for the shoes was $16.
Final Impressions & Overall Review Of TheRealReal:
As my first item I sold/consigned with TheRealReal I am impressed with their service and I will most definitely be consigning/selling more items with them in the future. Their customer service team was very helpful and reached out to me via email to see if I had any questions. In addition, the overall time it took me to enter the shoe description enter their website under my account, print the shipping label, package the shoes to ship, & drop-off the package at the post office took less than 15 minutes. $16 profit 15 minutes worth of work and minimal effort was well worth it in my personal opinion.
